Breaking Point

Life is like a taut rope, with each ends tied to a mountain.

Every responsibility you assume will be like hanging additional weights on it.

As we grow older, the number of weights also increases with time.

Each challenge we face in life is like a strong wind blowing at the rope, which was already so bogged down with weights.

As each gusts of the wind blows stronger, the weights seem heavier than before.

Some weights might drop because we can't hold on to it anymore. That's when u see people giving up their various positions. Like maybe they will not want to be a class chairman, they don't want to be in any clubs or societies anymore, or they don't want to remain as an officer in SJ anymore.

Eventually, the rope will wear off and one day, snap.

Everything that hangs on it will drop down into the valley below, shattering into pieces.

Life is cruel.

If you're not even going to help yourself, then no one can help you.

So I've always believed in not giving up in whatever we do.

As the exams are just round the corner, I hope no one is even near our breaking points just yet.

Yes, this period might be tough, but we'll never give up. If we've survived all the way from primary school till now, going through tests after tests, there's pretty much nothing that we cannot overcome.

To all KSJ peers and Kranjians, all the best for your exams.

Spider man hits town. My blog, rather.

wow, wow, wow. I thought Spiderman was here before this. How come there's spider web all over this blog?!

Note to the other blogger: Hey! having exams doesn't mean u can put down ur passion for KSJ and dun update this blog ok?!

What the hell. I entrusted u with the ultimate important responsibility of updating and maintaining this blog and u left it abandoned. hai~

I think it's better to take things into my own hand. haha. Ok, Sept holiday is over and it's time to wake up and chiong for school work already!

The last SJAB training seemed so long ago, even though it's just a few wks away.

Times in school really flies and it's the end of the year already. I still remember Sir Shen Yang talking about his Corps Standing Orders at the start of the year, freaking out everybody.

and now?! he's in the army and it's already Sept le! haha

October will be coming in a few wks' time and it also signifies, more or less, the beginning of our torture. (exam period)

prelims, O levels, EOY exams.

Everything seems so big and tough. but i shall not give up!

Every member of the KSJ family will jia you and not give up de, ok?!

GO GO GO!!!

We'll all get A1! (or at least, try for a C6 la)

i've told mum already. I will not fail any subjects le. I must jia you and work hard. I don't want to see my O level results having a "Fail" grade in any of the subjects. i know it's going to be tough, but I'm not going to let my present situation bog me down!

EOY, Prelims, O Levels!

HERE I COME!!!!!!

Archery

Yuppie! I am finally back. Too much homework(includes holiday homework :P) to hand in. I hate Maths, full stop.

Archery is sooooooooooooo fun. Geez! I dont know that archery was actually so fun de. There were two sessions for us. The first lesson was introduction to archery. Then we also learn how to set up the bow. I dont know that the bow is actually divided into two. I always thought that it is one big piece, like the one Legolas holds. hehe. We also have the hand guard, the finger guard. The instructor kept on talking. Talking. He dont feel thirsty de. :X After talking so much, we finally get to fire the arrow. Now i know why we need the handguard le. So painful lor! Piack! The string hit my hand. Lucky no contusion.

Then we have the second session the next week. We were there early. So we have more time to shoot. Yippie! I almost forget how to set up the bow. Then we have a small competition. I only can get ** out of 120. The others can get so high marks. Me really very lousy. Dunno we still can come archery anot. Heard from the seniors only can come once then no more le. Hai~ If only we can come again.

Recently got training on 21 July. We have PT(Physical Training) by Sir Kenneth. Sir Kenneth lei.. I didnt know he can run. :X Not that I xiao kan him, but he really run very fast. Run from music room to AVA room staircase, then run up to third floor again. Then we run down to second floor using the computer lab staircase, then run to the hall and run one around. Then we run down to the first floor, then we finally ended at the D&T block. Phew! I feel so tired after the run. Then Sir Kenneth say this is only warm up. We during PE also never run like this.
Then we did stretching. Sir Kenneth really can stretch. OMG! He say his friends can stretch until their body touch the floor. So scary lei!

"One, Two, Three, Four, Two, Two, Three, Four!" We keep shouting and shouting. We form two two rows along the corridoor. We were told to find a partner and form a pair. Sir Kenneth say must find same weight, same height, same size de. Then he demunstrate(spell correct?) how to lift Sergeant Hong Lip. OMG! He lifted him like King Kong lift the girl. AND, HE RAN CARRYING ANOTHER PERSON! Sir Kenneth MY IDOL!

hehe. Got too carried away. Actually dont feel like doing de, but Sir Kenneth keep forcing us to do. So no choice. We carried each other and run. I dont know carry people run around also so fun de. I see the seniors carry each other, then smiling. How can we juniors lose out. So I try very hard to follow. Yuppie! I manage to carry my partner. I feel so happy when i reach the green door. Now i know why the seniors so happy. When you manage to finish something after trying your best, you will feel very happy de! Dont know how to say lei. But it is like there is a monster in your brain telling you to give up, so when you tell yourself never to give up, you will feel like you kill the monster le.

We were taught how to play the animal game. We need to move around like three animals. I only remember one is lizard. We crawl on the floor using same hand same leg. Dont know how to do. Looks so ugly! Then we also do another two, but forget what name le. Then we go parade square play some game. We have to find a partner then hit each other leg. Seriously, i dont enjoy the game. Very painful lei! So i just walk around and play Hi 5. hehe.

Exclusive! Heard from the senior senior senior that Sir Shen Yang will be coming back from army on 27 July. Yippie! That means we can see him on 28 July training le. I want to see his botak head. Dont know will shine anot. hehe.

This saturday heard is NDP rehearsal. Hope I wont fall out! Aiye! Still need to hand in walkaton card. Now only got one digit. But Ma'am Ai Suan say must have $80. OMG! I must faster ask my classmates to donate. Those reading this, can donate to me. $10 can le.

Now let me end off in KSJ tradition(or is it the officers tradition). KSJ Huat Ar!

GST to 7%! While CF Night down by 2% to CF Day!

Wow! *Dust Dust Dust*

Is this blog collecting dust or what.

*Note to the other writer* Please blog more often, nowadays I very busy cannot blog that much liao. haha.

It's the 1st of July and it's the topic that's the talk of the town. Yes. It's the GST hike. 7% liao lei! Wa lao~

Go and photostat papers also will have to pay the increase lo. If it was still 5%, I only have to pay $2. Now I have to pay $2.20!

WTH! Then I ask the auntie, why so expensive?! If you do the maths, it will only be about $2.05 only lor... I think auntie press calculator press wrongly la. $2.20 is 10% increase lei!

Auntie! I SUE you ah!

haha. But then again, it's 15 cents difference lei. If one day got about 100 innocent people like me kana cheated ah, one month she can make an extra $450 more lei~! What the hell..

I swear I will not go back to that store again. haha.

But then again, is the 7% GST beneficial towards the auntie or the general public. haha.

Anyway, the Kranji Cultural Fiesta is quite a good one la. Cos KSJ is once again living up to its name, for the Service of Mankind. haha. Ok, we did Public Duty lo. So bored. Nobody really got hurt. haha.

Then again, no news is good news la. haha. =P

*Anyway, Pictures with courtesy from May. hehe.

Passing Out Parade 2007

It's the much anticipated event for the year.

It's POP 2007!

The Sec Four seniors are graduating. haha. The Sec threes will take over lo! hehe.

Handing over de stuffs more or less done le ba. Otherwise, will have to learn as we do the work lo. no choice. The matter of being able to learn all the stuffs before you can take over doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes we just learn as we do.

Make mistakes, then learn from it. But the step missing in between would be "make mistakes, KENA SCOLDING, then learn from it" haha. of course when we do something wrong, would get scolded for sure. But more importantly, dun let the scolding stop you from learning.

Sometimes people just get too caught up with being scolded and feeling damn "buey song" or rather, "not happy". Then they don't learn from their mistakes, because all they do is grumble and feel bad. Then they will give up. Then they will commit the same mistake. Hai~

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ey! Hello, hello. It's supposed to be about POP 2007, right. haha.

Ok, here's a big THANK YOU! to all our seniors; all that they have done for KSJ, be it in the past, present or in the future, I believe everyone is very grateful to them for everything that they have done for us. A round of applause... *CLAP *CLAP *CLAP *CLAP.

Dun worry, seniors. You can leave KSJ to us. =D *Ok, I was just joking*

Please come back as officer to help us out, ok? Them hope the principal can give us more cadets, please...

We're seriously lacking of people in the Corps. Not that we are desperate or what, but we really cannot function with only a small Corps. With the number of people graduating more than the number of people coming in, there's really a major decrease in the numbers lo.

I think I heard from the senior's seniors (aka officers) that Ma'am Ai Suan and Sir Choon Kiat's batch (by the way, they belong to the same batch) got about 30 people joining lei! Wa Sei... about 3 times as much as the intake this year lei... Hai~ what to do...

Please dun screw up this Saturday's POP, ok? So the principal can see that we are actually making progress, then she can give us more people. Or maybe Mr Kong can see how good we are, then can have more people to join us in the Corps next year.

Otherwise, next time we cannot even form enough teams to take part in any competitions organised by the Zone or at the National Level.

Jia You! KSJ Jia You! Go~! Go~! Go~!

CHIONG AH~~~!!!!!

Sin-Mal FAC 2007~!

Wow! I heard our CSM, Ms Chua Simin's team won the best NC Team in the Sing-Ma FAC 2007 lei! I think you must be like the BEST of the BEST to be there one lo. Afterall, you're representing ur country lei!!!

Wa Sei! Not bad ah. Who would have thought that the team member from the team that represented Singapore would be from our School! KSJ Rocks! Whoo-Hoo!

So happy sia. haha. Then also the Nursing Adult also got win lei! Singapore win all the nursing teams! haha. But Singapore's AC Team all lost to the Malaysia team one lo. haha.

I Kay-poh, so went to the SJAB Malaysia website to check lo.
haha. The HQ Website. So much better than the Singapore's website one lo (Oops, did I say they are better?)

Interested can go and look up their website:
http://www.sjam.org.my/

Their uniform also... very different from ours one lo. haha. The guys' beret look like Songkok like that. Then the Girls' beret really look like last-time de nurse de lei!

Then also got alot lo. Their girls wear pants one lei! So good. More convenient in moving around. Not like the girls in Singapore, wear skirt one. haha.

"Aiya, mum! you won't understand de la. You should have been there to feel the whole contingent of cadets there. haha.

Got one NC team got pretty girl lei. haha. eyes big big damn Ke Ai. haha. so many guys all looking at her lo. like no mood for competition like dat. =P

Ok. so when the results were announced, can hear like almost all the Kranji de team like all got win something lei. haha. so happy.

then on the way back, Sir Shen Yang announced that the AC team got improve alot. he said like "I'm very proud of my AC team, because they didn't have any error for their footdrill sequence"

then the whole bus was like "Whoo~!!" *Clap clap clap* haha.

Whoa~ I'm going to work hard. Continue to strive for 1st place! Then also the Corps Achievement Award we want to get GOLD! Show the school that we can do it! haha.

I'm sure we'll do as well. (or better) haha.

I love KSJ!

Oh yes, by the way... I think one of our officer and SNCO just got attached. haha. Congrats! =P

Holiday!

Good things must always start with something bad - Report Book before going on a holiday.

It depends on how you see it. We have about a month...

This month is used for those who're slower learners (like myself) to catch up with the rest and also for the cleverer people... (I shall not name who) to slack a bit, so when school re-opens, we're on par with each other! M.O.E has such a good plan with everything.

Thanks to all who helped me pass my maths. English will have to buck up. Dunno why some people just cannot stop bragging about their marks. The way they put it is like "Oh, I expected a distinction for it lei!"

Oh yes, I found an article in the Today newspaper lei! Guess who wrote it! Oh, my god.

I scanned it and put it inside. Feel it is a bit motivating. Was shocked when I saw the name. Dunno whether is really him or not. haha.

Re: Roll Roll, Roll your boat... Mango Shrimp Roll!!!

Mango Prawn Rolls (Serves 4)

Ingredients
15 pcs of tiger prawn meat
a bit of White pepper powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 sweet mango (remove skin and seed, dice it into cubes of 1cm x 1cm x 1cm)
20 pcs of Spring Roll sheet (can buy from supermarket one)
Mayonnaise
1 egg (Remove egg yoke. Use only egg white.)

Method
1. Shell tiger prawns, remove veins and cut into 6 equal smaller pieces for each prawn.
2. Throw in the salt and pepper, with the prawns. "Massage" prawns and put into fridge to cool (Dun freeze it!) Marinate for about 30 minutes.
3. Layout spring roll sheet, put one 3 pieces of prawn meat, 2 piece of mango and squeeze abit of mayonnaise onto it.
4. Roll up to seal. Fold in from the sides, then roll up from the bottom.
5. Use your finger to dap a bit of the egg white and apply on the ends when you roll up the Spring roll.
6. Deep fry for 5 mins / Or stir fry till golden brown. Drain excess oil. Over medium heat. Dun kan chiong and on big fire until the outside burn and inside raw.
7. Serve hot.

Notes
1. Make sure you drain the fried roll..as oil may stay inside the roll.
2. Since the mixture is wet, the roll sheet gets damp and tears easily.
3. Make sure you wrap it up properly!

Couching Potato, Hidden Dragon...

There's this something which I loved alot as a kid and I finally found the recipe from my neighbour. It turned out that she likes this dish too! Wow. It's a small world. But.. the story is true.

I love potato croquettes. Nothing beats deep-fried carbohydrates. haha!!

This is a very simple recipe which everyone can make. Let's do it!

Ingredients:
  1. 2 to 3 potatoes
  2. pepper and salt to taste
  3. 1 tablespoon butter
  4. 1 tablespoon full cream fresh milk
  5. 50 to 80 gms of cooked ham or cooked seafood like fish, crab or prawns (cut into small pieces)
  6. 2 tablespoons of plain flour
  7. breadcrumbs to coat
  8. 1 egg beaten

Simply, boil the potatoes in some water for 10 to 15 minutes (tip: if you make soup and accidentally add too much salt, you can drop in a potato and it will help absorb the salt). Remove the potatoes, drain them and mash your soft potato chucks while still hot. Add in the butter, pepper, salt and milk. Mix well and add in your ham or seafood (if you ham is salty, you do not need to add salt).

Divide the mixture into small equal portions and shape into 2 inch long rolls. Flour the palm of your hands and pat each roll in the beaten egg. Then roll in the breadcrumbs and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown. Drain on a paper towel to remove the excess oil and eat while still hot.

Serve with a little bit of mayonnaise. hehe. Well, if you're afraid of getting fat, all you need to do is...

dun eat lo! hehe.

In "LOO-ving" memory...

Toilets of the world unite…

Pee, urinal. Pee, pee, urinal.

Shit, cubicle. Shit, shit, cubicle.

(I can’t continue this cheer anymore. It’s a bit gross. Any ideas, please contribute. Thanks.)

Let’s face it. We all need to use the toilet at some point in our lives – Even when you constipate – and there’s one organisation which dedicates its cause to the regular maintenance of all the toilets in the world. That’s the World Toilet Organisation (WTO).

Maybe Kranji should have a KTO (Kranji Toilet Organisation) also. The toilets in the canteen is… urgh; so sucky… Also some toilets are haunted. Eee. Damn scary when you’re inside alone. Sometimes so scared that when I wash my hands, I don’t dare to look at the mirror. Haha.

Also, I remember when I was in Sec one, the level one toilets at level one that’s nearest to the field, is a bit scary, cos it’s like very big. An also got a lot of cubicles. Like all the cubicles were lined up side by side. Something might just pop “its head” from one of the cubicles and freak you out. Haha.

That said, it’s not meant to scare you. Good good. Maybe I can put a series of ghosts stories after my food-related posts comes to the end of its season!

Have fun. Oh, here’s the link if you’re interested in finding out more about the WTO. Lol.

http://www.worldtoilet.org/

Oh, yes. By the way, I already know who posted the last comment. It's an officer. haha and it's................................ Sir Kenneth! Your "hahaha" at the end of your sentence gave you away. hehe. Only you will "laugh" like that. clever right.

Carls' Junior? More like "Carl's Jumbo!"

Nothing to do, very bored... So I went out with my friends lo! to Vivo City!!! Whoa! The place is like, gigantic, humongous, jumbo-sized, whatever words that describes things that are so huge and out of this world, it's meant for Vivo City.

Ok, so I was at Vivo City yesterday, with my friends... It's so huge. There're alot of shops lo! But all the shops all a bit small small one. Haha. Only a few shops were big. But it's really like a shopping heaven. Things aren't going on sale yet, but it's really alot of variety lo!

Anyway, the Great Singapore Sale is coming soon! Visit http://www.greatsingaporesale.com.sg/ to find out more!!!

Yup. So as you can see above... Carl's Junior is the food of the town!

Though a bit expensive, but it's really huge... I ordered the Barbeque chicken something... Can't really remember the name. *Lost my memory after I finished eating the burger.* haha. Whoa! So big, can. Really so huge that even a person with the biggest mouth cannot fit a mouthful of the burger into the mouth.

I have to seperate it into halves and eat! Haha. Ok, that means I got 樱桃小嘴 (Meaning, small mouth, just like a cherry) LOL!

Nevertheless... I finished the burger Ok!

Their lemon tea very special lei... They give u the cup then u pour the tea urself... *of course this is not the special part, stupid* Then u add lemon... *No, this is not special too...*

Then you have to pour syrup (i think is sugared water) one lei!!! I ask my friend why need to pour syrup.. Then she say, "you try la, dun pour syrup and drink"

Whoa! The bitterness is the "can-die" type. Haha.

$10 ++! Eat until stomach explode also will eat one! Wahaha!

Ok, That's all for now. Let's have a KSJ gathering there one day!!!

Re: study study study...

It's been another day burnt just by reading the notes... Exams exams... Now I'm starting to miss SJ trainings... At least that would mean that it's not in the exam period.

Heard the Kranji Newsletter going to be printed liao, but dunno when it's coming out. Wonder if there'll be any articles featuring me! haha. Maybe I'll be the "cover person", even though the chances are very small.

Well, well. Maybe I can be recruited into the Newsletter Committee!

Oh yes, heard about many other things also, like on 27 May got Fire-fighting and prevention course. Read about it from cadets in other corps; seems fun! I didn't know actually different coloured fire extinguishers are used for different types of fire one!

Somemore I don't know whether we can fight a real fire anot! haha. I wanna go!

Anway, just finished playing audition. Getting a bit bored with it already. I think I need more sleep instead. Look forward to KSJ training - ie end of exams!

Frying an Egg.

You can have a soft, moist fluffy omelette without using it. Try this recipe meant for two persons:

Fluffy omelette:

  1. 4 eggs (room temperature), separate yoke and whites
  2. 3 to 4 tablespoon fresh milk
  3. Salt and pepper to taste
  4. 2 tablespoons butter

Beat the egg yolk and add in the milk, salt and pepper. Beat the egg white separately till stiff and fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg white. Melt the butter in a frying pan and pour in the mixture. Cook slowly until the bottom is brown and the egg mixture sets. Place the pan under a grill to further cook the omelette until the top is lightly brown. Watch the omelette as it browns very quickly.

PS I would add some bacon chips in the egg mixture for a tastier omelette.

And for those of you out there, who're guessing who I am, not need to guess. I just want to blog about Kranji St John and a little bit of my life... Do my little bit for Kranji only... I dun wanna play the guessing game le la... But can I keep my identity secret?

Messy, messy, messy

Whoa.

Passed by the St. John Room today, saw the condition inside, really a little bit messy lei. Haha. Maybe Cheung Weng can clean up a bit, or maybe Sze Him can help clean up also, my friend was like saying, "haiya, be like the BB la. Use photo boards to cover their window panes, then inside like pig sty also nobody knows. Haha. Image ma."

I was like "Er..." You're from BB and you're saying that?!

Whatever it is, today is Friday lo! Two more weeks will have SJ training again. Heard Sir CK is coming down lei. Wonder how he looks in Botak head. If I botak, how will I look ah? haha. Well, well. Will only know in about another few years' time, cos I'm going into NS.

Excited sia. Army seems fun and Sir Choon Siong is an officer in the army lei! Cool sia.

Ok. Multiple identities. The guessing game continues.

P.S. To increase the difficulty of this, I'll be taking different identities to post. So I think now u must be racking your brains; who the hell is this?!

Caught Already?! Game Over?

Oh no! Sir Shen Yang has found out about this blog already!

So fast! It's only my third post! Oh, nvm. It's alright. Lucky I never put my name. hahahahahahahah~

So happy finding, Ong! Hehe. That's what the cute Sir Kenneth always call him. Wonder what he calls him in private. Dear?! haha. Maybe they gay also we dunno. Anyway, better dun say too much. Later Carrot scold. haha.

I think Sir Shen Yang can go and join the Police intelligence team already. Everything also can find. I bet he was the one who found all our blogs and tell the officers one lor. Fierce also not enough, must track us somemore. Hai~

Just read his blog - found me liao le lor.... so sian. so fast get caught le. Anyway... that means I'm watching the Officer's blogs also la. Watch out! Cos this is my way of fighting back. You stare at us, we stare at you. You watch us! We watch YOU!. haha.

I can be a senior NCO also what or best, I am an officer. haha. Quick Quick! Greet me! haha.

not necessary cadet ah.. haha. He thinks that I'm going to do harm to Kranji St John lo. haha~ But coming to think of it ah... What he say does makes a bit of sense. But haiya~ I just say whatever I like here lo... No one knows about me anyway...

Dunno whether it's a good thing to write this here, but I feel he also very Ke Lian. RSM dunno what post la, but sounds like he have to act very fierce like that. Sometimes when he smiles, can make you feel so scared one. But when he crack jokes - even if it's a lame one - people will still feel a bit relieved la, at least we know he's not angry or what.

Whoa! write so much about him already. haha. Just pouring my thoughts out. BleahX =P

Exams are so boring and the paper today is damn tough, can... Ok. I won't say what paper. Or else you will know liao...

But looking on the bright side of life, *Always look on the bright side of life, *Whistle whistle...**

Haha. Ok. L is for LAME...

Went to Bugis today with my mum... Yes, I know it's a bit weird to go to Bugis on a Thursday and with my mum! I mean.. who would go there with your mum, right. Like Bugis is such a I-won't-wanna-go-with-my-mum kinda place...

Nvm. My mum brought me to this Coffee shop at Bugis. It's beside the OG shopping centre only, like a "roadside stalls" like that, by the side of another building. Not very familiar with this part of bugis, apart from the GuanYin Temple there. Very famous one.

Their Katong Laksa damn special. *You must be thinking: "Like what? The noodles can fly ah?"*

No la. stupid. The noodles are cut up into small strips and then they give you spoon to eat one! Special right?! haha. Mum say last time the real Katong Laksa is use spoon to eat one. So I'm eating the real Katong Laksa! haha.

Not too expensive. $3 only. Quality is not bad. 7 out of 10. But it's a little jia lat la. When it rains, the rain water will seep thru' the big umbrella, dunno is whether it got holes or what. Rainwater just *Toop!* drop on your head. Haha. Lucky didn't drop into my Laksa. But it drop into my Kopi-O, can... wa lao....

Summary: Food is good, place is ok. Service also not bad. Worth coming back.

Hello Everyone!

Maybe I should say something related to KSJ to let you believe I'm one of you. haha.
